CZW Hardcore/Ultraviolent Title History

The CZW Hardcore / Ultraviolent Title History

Assault's Hardcore Title was made when the shows were separated. At Summer Showdown, Tim Timmons became the first ever CZW Hardcore Champion after participating in the 15 Man, 15 Minute Frenzy.

Timmons held it until AND JUSTICE FOR ALL, where in an uniquely designed 8-Man TLC Elimination took place, with Tim's team consisting of himself, Carnage & The Mayhem Brothers facing the team of Mike King, Buck Evans, and the World Tag champs at the time, Nasty Damage. Mike King was victorious in retrieving the title.

Timmons won back the belt at HORRORCORE, much to the dismay of Brian Kirkland and Mike King. Brian Kirkland then defeated Timmons in Richmond, contesting in a Street Fight.

Brian Kirkland retained, and saved, the Hardcore title against Justin Marsham on December 31st, in a vicious CZW-style Texas Death Match.

On February 13th, the Hardcore title and the X-Division title were unified, leaving Brian Kirkland as the last Hardcore champion.

After a few months went by, CZW powers decided to bring back the Hardcore title in the form the CZW Ultraviolent title. As it was deemed fair, Brian Kirkland was handed the belt and affirmed as the first CZW Ultraviolent champion. He held the title until Pandemonium, where Shrapnel defeated him for it.

Shrapnel held the belt until August 1st, where he was defeated by "The Mountain Man" Josh Newsome in a triple threat match. "Awesome" Shawn Duncan was the third participant.

At Re-United We Stand, Brian Kirkland became the first two-time UV champion, pinning Newsome. At There Will Be Blood, The Reaper successfully defended the title against the Custodian in a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match.

After the new Youthful Aggression emerged, Brian turned on former best friend Dwayne Campbell for not following his 'code.' On February 8th 2010, in Lexington, The Reaper successfully defended the title against Campbell in a Street Fight in what many say was the match of the night.

Brian held the title until May 3rd, where he beat Maynard O'Toole for the Intercontinental title. Brian tried to pass the title down to Mike King, but according to Ryan Lewis, that wasn't going to go down and per the CZW brass, like many times we've had wrestlers hold more than one title, the UV title was vacated.

At Summer Showdown, the title was contested for by Buzzsaw and Jakob Mayhem, who has had quite a storied past before their signings with CZW. In a BRUTAL match, perhaps one of the most in CZW, Buzzsaw came out the winner and new UV champion.

In what many consider the most high profiled match contested for the belt ever, Buzzsaw was challenged by Matt Covey at Hatewave III in a insanely dangerous Extreme Scaffold match. With a little aid from his woman Morgan, Buzzsaw was able to retain the title... but was ultimately pushed off the scaffold himself by Morgan's brother, Jakob Mayhem!

September 20th, in Brisbane, Australia, CZW saw one of the bloodiest and most brutal matches shown on Overdrive, a CZW first in the Triple Threat Death Cell. Buzzsaw successfully defended the CZW Ultraviolent title against heated rivals Jakob Mayhem and 'Bad Ass' Matt Covey.

The rivalry over the belt reverted to a two-man affair after Covey being quite literally thrown out of the company, and Buzzsaw and Mayhem once again locked horns at Horrorcore, this time with a "supporting cast" of four other CZW Superstars - Sledge, Axel St. James, Rosman Ballard and Garrett William - in a Falls Count Anywhere 20-Minute Frenzy Match. Predictably, the belt changed hands several times, but it was Jakob Mayhem who ended up holding the belt.. just.. when the clock stopped, giving the wannabe champions of the future one hell of a mountain to climb!
