Combat Zone Wrestling was founded in December of 2007, by Derek Damage, in Stamford, Connecticut. The first wrestlers on the roster were The Zodiac Thrilla, Caleb Walker, and Tim Timmons. The company has grown to a global entity, however it almost went bankrupt in the summer of 2008. In the nick of time, new financial backers came into the picture and the company has thrived since. Unlike other companies, CZW holds a live television broadcast, "Overdrive," every two weeks instead of every week, with heavy promotion for the show throughout the time between on the national and international cable outlets.
